Game No. 070 — June 19, 2017
Hector Velázquez took the ball for his second career start and kept the Red Sox close for his five innings of work. Aside from a Jackie Bradley Jr. home run, Boston had trouble scoring, leaving 11 men on base. The Royals had similar troubles, leaving eight of their own on base, but eventually got the best of Boston’s bullpen in the seventh inning to secure the win.
For every Red Sox game this season, we will be visualizing the final score. Our ground rules: scores must be posted before the first pitch of the next game and must represent the final score. New for this year: home games will be on a white background, away games on black, and the Red Sox will always be red.
