Game No. 142 — September 9, 2017
The Red Sox wasted no time kicking off a nine-run scoring spree over the course of the first three innings Saturday night, with second baseman Dustin Pedroia hitting a two-run homer into the Monster seats in the first inning. Starter Chris Sale cruised to his sixteenth victory, striking out eight Rays’ batters over six innings in the shut out.
For every Red Sox game this season, we will be visualizing the final score. Our ground rules: scores must be posted before the first pitch of the next game and must represent the final score. New for this year: home games will be on a white background, away games on black, and the Red Sox will always be red. Follow the whole project here or get weekly recaps in your inbox.
We'll be publishing the entire season's worth of visualizations in a 6x9-inch, softcover, perfect-bound book! Preorder at foredesign.co/soxscores.
