Game No. 145 — September 13, 2017
After a particularly brutal loss the night before, Oakland kicked off Wednesday night’s game with a bang, driving in four runs in the first inning, including a two-run homer from Matt Olson. The Red Sox had a hard time overcoming the A’s solid performance on the mound, with starter Jharel Cotton allowing just three runs and the bullpen holding Boston scoreless through the final four innings of the game.
For every Red Sox game this season, we will be visualizing the final score. Our ground rules: scores must be posted before the first pitch of the next game and must represent the final score. New for this year: home games will be on a white background, away games on black, and the Red Sox will always be red. Follow the whole project here or get weekly recaps in your inbox.
We'll be publishing the entire season's worth of visualizations in a 6x9-inch, softcover, perfect-bound book! Preorder at foredesign.co/soxscores.
