Game No. 153 — September 22, 2017
Reds second baseman Scooter Gennett welcomed the Sox to Cincinnati with a grand slam in the first inning but a three-run homer from Rafael Devers in the fourth would put the Sox on top for good. Pitcher David Price was all smiles after he picked up his first hit in seven years, putting the cherry on top of a strong relief appearance to earn the win.
For every Red Sox game this season, we will be visualizing the final score. Our ground rules: scores must be posted before the first pitch of the next game and must represent the final score. New for this year: home games will be on a white background, away games on black, and the Red Sox will always be red. Follow the whole project here or get weekly recaps in your inbox.
We'll be publishing the entire season's worth of visualizations in a 6x9-inch, softcover, perfect-bound book! Preorder at foredesign.co/soxscores.
