Game No. 147 — September 15, 2017
After ceding their one-run lead over Tampa Bay in the 14th inning, the Red Sox put up seven runs in the 15th to secure the win and maintain a three game lead over the Yankees in the A.L. East. Chris Sale and eight relievers combined to strike out 14 of the Rays’ 16 hitters for a total of 24 Ks.
For every Red Sox game this season, we will be visualizing the final score. Our ground rules: scores must be posted before the first pitch of the next game and must represent the final score. New for this year: home games will be on a white background, away games on black, and the Red Sox will always be red. Follow the whole project here or get weekly recaps in your inbox.
We'll be publishing the entire season's worth of visualizations in a 6x9-inch, softcover, perfect-bound book! Preorder at foredesign.co/soxscores.
