Game No. 127 — August 24, 2017
Everyone has an off night in baseball and on Thursday night, it was Boston’s ace, Chris Sale. He only made it through three innings, giving up seven runs and accruing a shockingly low three strikeouts. The Red Sox scored six times, including two home runs from first baseman Mitch Moreland, but the Indians were able to score more than double that in the blowout.
For every Red Sox game this season, we will be visualizing the final score. Our ground rules: scores must be posted before the first pitch of the next game and must represent the final score. New for this year: home games will be on a white background, away games on black, and the Red Sox will always be red. Follow the whole project here or get weekly recaps in your inbox.
We'll be publishing the entire season's worth of visualizations in a 6x9-inch, softcover, perfect-bound book! Preorder at foredesign.co/soxscores.
