Game No. 111 — August 5, 2017
Three home runs in the first two innings would account for all of the scoring in Saturday night’s contest between Chicago and Boston. After White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson sent one into the seats on top of the Green Monster on the second pitch of the game, Red Sox rookie Andrew Benintendi answered right back with a two-run shot of his own, followed by another two-run long ball in the second courtesy of Jackie Bradley Jr.
For every Red Sox game this season, we will be visualizing the final score. Our ground rules: scores must be posted before the first pitch of the next game and must represent the final score. New for this year: home games will be on a white background, away games on black, and the Red Sox will always be red. Follow the whole project here or get weekly recaps in your inbox.
We'll be publishing the entire season's worth of visualizations in a 6x9-inch, softcover, perfect-bound book! Preorder at foredesign.co/soxscores.
