Game No. 131 — August 28, 2017
Despite a couple of amazing catches by Toronto center fielder Kevin Pillar and a threatening comeback attempt in the ninth inning, Boston was able to end their four game losing streak. Starter Drew Pomeranz had another strong outing and got the offensive support he needed, most notably from catcher Christian Vázquez who went 4-4, including a two-run homer in the seventh inning.
For every Red Sox game this season, we will be visualizing the final score. Our ground rules: scores must be posted before the first pitch of the next game and must represent the final score. New for this year: home games will be on a white background, away games on black, and the Red Sox will always be red. Follow the whole project here or get weekly recaps in your inbox.
We'll be publishing the entire season's worth of visualizations in a 6x9-inch, softcover, perfect-bound book! Preorder at foredesign.co/soxscores.
