Game No. 9 — April 13, 2017
The Red Sox hosted the Pirates on Thursday night to complete their series that was rained out last week. After trailing the entire game, Boston’s bats came alive in the eighth when Hanley Ramírez, recently recovered from the flu, drove in two runs to tie the game. Xander Bogaerts followed that up with an RBI single to send the go-ahead run across the plate while closer Craig Kimbrel recorded his third save of the season.
For every Red Sox game this season, we will be visualizing the final score. Our ground rules: scores must be posted before the first pitch of the next game and must represent the final score. New for this year: home games will be on a white background, away games on black, and the Red Sox will always be red.
