A small abandoned house and outbuildings in the Westfjords region of Iceland. I did a trip around this beautifully remote and largely empty part of the country in July 2017. There are many abandoned farms, houses and factories here, in part due to the extreme winter weather this part of the country suffers and also because the recent global economic crash. Abandoned places come packaged with a strange and addictive atmosphere but in Iceland that feeling of emptiness and isolation is also present in the landscape that surrounds them., resulting in sensory overload. The image below shows the structure, it's interior and sights located close by.
