This site marks the spot where one of Italy's biggest and longest running industrial firms began. Chosen in 1846 as the founding location for a site that would grow to become the worlds largest cement firms, Italcementi. Over the years the company grew and merged with a construction group run by the local Pesenti family. It merged again in 2016 with the German company Heidelberg Cement and is now the largest of its kind in the world. This site is now a ruin of national importance and a spectacular example of Italian industrial heritage.~
Exploring it was like discovering some ancient ruin lost to time, the pillared sections on the 2nd floor reminded me of some ancient temple.
