Mile Marker 21
On a recent trip to the island of Molokai we woke up one morning and drive 21 miles east where the road met the rugged coastline. As it started to get light we noticed the sky was completely overcast and our hopes for a beautiful sunrise diminished. However, as the sun started to ride the sky lit up and began to glow orange. You can also see the rain on the horizon. I found a spot where the naupaka plant was creeping over some lava rock and made for an interesting foreground. My favorite part of the naupaka is the flower that only has petals on half of it.
