Thomas Cyron and Matthias Hermann recently wrote a master thesis about the implications of authenticity for cultural entrepreneurs in electronic dance music. He was so kind to make it public to you via the Berlin Mitte Institut blog. Below you will find a short summary, and at the bottom the full thesis to read and download. His conclusion is: ‘To conclude, we believe that an authentic career in underground electronic dance music is a long-term process. What it comes down to is the motivation one has to start a career. If you quickly want to earn a lot of money, this study will probably not provide you with the knowledge to do so. However, if your motivation is to create and stay true to yourself, and you’re in it for the long run, you might find the paper interesting.’ Have a good read!
