Once a prosperous steel town in Southeast Ohio, the city of Steubenville has met with extreme challenges and economic downfalls for over 30 years. The city has lost most of its population since the mid-1980s and poverty levels continue to be on the rise. But within its forgotten region of foreclosed businesses and dilapidated homes exist twenty-five large-scale murals, each one painted by various artists from around the world. This series explores the landscape of these murals and how beauty can still exist in a backdrop of wreck and ruin.
