Artist Bio: Djibril Dramé is a senegalese artist who has been doing photography for over 10 years. He is known for his remarkable eye for street art and portraitures. However is well versed in all the genres and has been pushing Senegal to be recognized in the visual art field as an independent scholar. He is currently based in Los Angeles, CA.
This project is a call for all the lost souls to reconnect with themselves, to seek for “Blackness”, to kill their “White Goat” (stereotypes, judgment & prejudice) and embrace their “Black Goat”: gender, sexuality and race as a taboo topic in society. Embrace The color black that signifies these different elements will save us.
My ancestors have been trying to heal humanity. Today it is my duty to continue the healing process with one of the best tool of knowledge transmission : photography.
