the sound of raindrops falling onto the road was unheard by the stressed and busy sixteen year old boy who was multitasking everything—taking down notes, reviewing the powerpoint, answering homework and listening to music. the headphones that were encapsulating his ears and cancelling out the noise around him made him unaware of the weather outside the library, which is one of the factors why he won't be able to get home on time.
really now? you have got to be kidding me. he remarks as he went past by the window as he was about to get a book from one of the farther aisles. he sighs and shakes his head in distress, thinking of possible ways to get home. unfortunately for him, he didn't have an umbrella since the forecast predicted a happy weather that morning. it was either 1) he had to wait for the rain to stop, 2) ask a random stranger to share his/her umbrella, or the choice he disliked the most 3) running in the rain for it.
he decided to wait, even if it means getting home at night for it.
