(Im)perfection (September 2014)
The human experience is
A brief flash of sacred consciousness,
We are memorialized by densely clustered
That punctuate an otherwise infinite
Meteor black maw.
Each timeline is a red line, unique,
Spattered against sterile, white tile,
With a stark, sudden beginning,
And a stark, sudden end;
Vitruvian Man be damned,
In all his perfection.
I prefer Da Vinci's sepia sketched
Deconstructed Men and Women
And any and all bloody reminders,
That we are all beautiful, fragile, machines;
The gorgeous hidden in the grotesque.
Do not forget: we are magnificently morbid,
Take refuge in the knowledge
That we ultimately break.
So Time's gift is that
You do not have to be perfect.
You merely have to be.
In a million years,
History will only show
How your fossilized bones,
creamy, yellowed, polished,
Shine like gold.
Felt like posting some vintage writing with some fresh design.
