W. Max Thomason (American, b.1971) a contemporary painter whose work encompasses Realism, Abstraction, as
well as elements of Pop-Art. His works frequently depict sole figures in haunting, solitary vignettes of
daily life. His early influences as a painter can be greatly attributed to the work of the Fauvists of
the early 1900's and the American Realists of the 1960's and 70's. Thomason studied studio art at Metropolitan State University/University of Colorado at Denver 1990-97 under the guidance of the likes of Amy Metier and Robert Mangold. His work has been exhibited both nationally and internationally in galleries and museums, and his art has been
