This is a thought I've self-censored for a while because it might come across as being overly callous.
Every summer, I wait for the big storm that will cause a major disruption and make people take energy and climate seriously. It is not because I want to see massive death and destruction, but because I think those things are inevitable so I want it to be apparent what is going on.
But it isn't like the US hasn't had more than a few wake up-calls. Katrina, Ike, Sandy: three storms that caused major disruption. Three storms that could have also been a lot worse. So when is the really big one going to happen, the one that will make people realize that things have to change?
