Happy Wednesday! I guess it's also International Women's Day? I feel like lately there's some "holiday", that I never knew existed, happening EVERY DAY. Regardless, while my views on gender, pronouns, and seemingly pointless days may differ from others', I was thinking about different women in history. There have been a number of women who made discoveries in the field of science and math that I don't think get much, if any, credit at all. I often wish I spent my time in school learning about the discoveries of Marie Curie than Thomas Edison (who's arguably not even a "real" scientist). And the fact that we have a holiday celebrating Christopher Columbus (who goes on my list worst historical figures) and not someone like Harriet Tubman blows my mind.
There are so many cool women in the world across a whole span of interests, and I'm glad my daughter will have some cool female role-models (past and present) to look to. I'm personally first, and foremost thankful for my wife. She's very strong and independent and excels at numerous things I fail to do. She does a great job taking care of me and our kid and I love her for it.
Hope your hump day is going well and here's looking forward to Friday!
