I've been thinking.
In a thousand years we will be forgotten. This idea can be seen as defeatist, depressing, sad, nihilistic, etc...
I don't see this as a bad thing. To me the idea of being absolutely erased from existence is actually quite liberating. No matter what you do, how hard you work, your titles, your inheritance, your failures, or your success it all goes into the same void.
I think this allows me to view things in a new perspective. To better appreciate the present. To better enjoy the present. To take risks and not worry about failure quite so much because in the end it really doesn't make a difference.
If you think no one cares about what you do now, eventually this will be absolutely true.
Enjoy life. Soak it up. Live for the simple things and enjoy working towards your goals. Enjoy "working towards" I think is key. "Having" is just a moment and is fleetingly temporary. The process is continual till the end.
Enjoy the process and be happy. Enjoy the end but hate the process and be miserable pretty much the whole time.
But either way, into the void. Might as well enjoy it.
