TYPOGRAPHIES (from Greek týpos „reflection, form”, gráphō „writing”) — series of typographic depictions of Polish architectural masterpieces. Only Futura font splayes are used as building elements of the graphics (letters, characters, digits).
The series of TYPOGRAPHIES by Henryk Kwiatek is a typographic attempt of depicting the city, regarded as national heritage undergoing constant change. Using TYPOGRAHIES he strives to place pillars in the city magma presenting his picture of the world. He chooses buildings and objects that are not only significant for the city, but foremost for himself.
Kwiatek addresses the series of TYPOGRAPHIES to everyone, who is interested in architecture, graphics, typography and arts, as well as to those, who care about the context of their living surroundings. On 27th September the www catalogue-page will be launched. It will contain a depiction of several buildings/objects that until now might have been overlooked and from now on they will shine in typographic glamour. The catalogue-page is meant to function as an informative exchange platform. Visitors will be encouraged to share information about other significant buildings from the surrounding area which may also turn into next TYPOGRAPHIES. Kwiatek’s dream reaches much further and he envisions his project would encompass also the architectural history of smaller cities.
