Whats on Grey's Worktable Tonight? 10-15-17
Tonight prep continues on the two new head sculptures. Both of the heads have now been mounted on bases. Glass eyes have been added and features have begun to slow be added using a combination of foaming glue and natural clay. Once heat is added, anyplace where clay or glue is will remain intact while around the edges will melt.
The heads will be used in class tonight to demonstrate an important rule of Assimilation Art that "Art begets Art". Essentially this means that when we are creating a piece of art that there are multiple other pieces of art within it as it develops. Where we stop and conclude something is art has no clear line. It is completely in the eyes and mind of the artist when he/she may conclude the art is done. But as the art transitions from one phase to the next art is still present and can be brought forth. With this in mind, we will use these heads to create a completely different piece of art first before moving on to the final sculptural pieces. I'll post photos of it later of course.
Questions and comments always welcome.
