In Defense of the Poor Image
The poor image is compromised by its bad quality, low and compressed resolution, and its rapid distribution. Although high resolution images are characterized as richer and of higher status usually being shown in the cinema, the poor image is more known to circulate around the internet. This circulation is prone to editing and compressing these images even further. The poor image reflects todays fasted paced society, revealing what images people deem worthy of their time.
Its wide range of accessibility opens the poor image up to a much larger audience. The platform in which poor images are shared allows users to actively participate and become editors. For example, on YouTube when someone adds subtitles to a video they are contributing to the editing and distributing of poor images.
