Poetry by H. J. Cross (@hjcross_poetry)
My poetry is often the unraveling of my deepest thoughts. I find ordering them into poetry can give me clarity. I might also include the occasional short story. Sometimes, it is raw and transparent. Other times, it may be a way for me to release some destructive thinking with sarcasm. However, all of it is me.

I write, shoot photos, and sometimes translate texts from German into English. My creative work reflects a life divided between two continents. It also reflects a strong connection to water, especially New England's Atlantic coast.

This is a place for sharing interesting images and tales from our past. Anything from pyramids, to ancient iron furnaces, to unusual old vehicles. If it is a bit unusual and of historical value, please share. I also moderate @ellobridges, so I'll try not to duplicate images from there unless there is a serious historical background.

I have been a poet and lyricist for over 13 years now, planning to publish a collection of poetry in 2021. I am more recently a photographer; I learned a lot of what I know on-set with many professional photographers on the East Coast. In other news, after meeting the owner of the local art gallery here where I'm living in Texas, she has offered to feature my photography once I have a number of them professionally printed. I'm hoping to reach a wider audience through this format, looking for exposure; any financial contributions will be put directly into my craft(s).
