You know, I totally get the hate. I totally get it.
I don't agree with it, but yeah, there's something deeply disturbing with Darren Aronofsky's Mother!, something that fucking fucks me down to the bone marrow.
The sad thing is that it tells the truth, no matter if you watch it an allegory or through symbols or exactly what it is on the screen. It's hard to turn away the face, and it's actually not really a positive twist either - even if I'm sure some might see it like that - but it's not. Trust me. When the end credits roll I feel even more depressed, even more cynical about the world and the society around me.
But at the same time I feel even stronger to where I stand in life. I know who I am. I can see even clearer.
Oh, and looking at it with shallower eyes - Jennifer Lawrence makes the performance of a lifetime. If she doesn't win every fucking prize there is there's something fucking wrong with the world.
I have another reading of the film by the way, do anyone care to hear that one? Let me know.
