Z-KreatureZ is an exploration of the sidekick or companion. The accomplice of the typical main character specifically those found in science fiction tales. Traditionally, the sidekick is the counterpoint to the main character, the living mirror that reflects, rebounds and refrains the actions of the main character.
Zeke is fascinated by these background characters - even if they are afforded an origin story it is still punctuated by how it fits within the main character’s context. With ‘Mystical Menagerie’ Zeke shifts the focus from the lead to the companion, each painting exhibits these characters within their own context - free from the ebb and flow of the so-called ‘Hero’.
