What's New: Handmade Leather Goods from Noah Marion: LEARN MORE HERE
Writing about makers is an interesting occupation. I’ve been in the blogging game for over 7 years and I continue to meet great artists and designers from every corner of the globe. I would love to tell you that everything that I encounter is uplifting and sweet but alas, that is not the case.
I continue to see makers who are incredibly gifted, struggling to make a living practicing their art. Just as being an independent blogger is swimming upstream in a rushing torrent of corporate-sponsored blogs, so too is the life of many a maker. How exactly does a maker compete with mass-produced products and the perception that pretty things should cost pennies? How do you keep creating with a positive wind at your back when many a maker has moved on?
It’s one thing to expose LAB readers and social fans to well-made goods from artists that I only know from the pixels they share online. It’s another thing entirely to celebrate the work of makers that I happen to know personally. Such is the case with Noah Marion.
