Artist Spotlight: GDS Cloth Goods
IT ALL STARTED WITH ...
A cup of coffee in hand and a vague dream of a fuller life. Geana Sieburger started GDS at the Temescal Farmers' Market in Oakland back in 2012. For the first year, she designed and sewed on weekends, and with a hand-built pushcart, traversed a few blocks of her neighborhood to vend at the Sunday market.
Geana is a problem solver, a seer of detail, a lover of texture, color and quality. She believes that an object that means something to us, contributes to a more fulfilling life. It comes down to intention and the opportunity for us to connect with the present moment in a positive way by growing our appreciation for an everyday task through an object we love.
