Distance between you and your photographs will give you a different perspective.
After a wedding I wait two weeks before I even look at them. I'd leave it six months if I could but I doubt I'd gat away with that.
I try to forget the wedding and remove any emotional attachment I have to the people and photographs. That guy who I had great conversation with, the photograph I made of him may not be as good I initially think, and in the whole scheme of things may not work within the series of images selected as the final product. Just because he was nice guy, doesn't make the photograph good.
I study previous weddings to figure out what I did right, and what I did wrong, to further refine my understanding of what I'm doing, and ultimately to be better. Images that I may have previously dismissed become the strongest and shape my progress, forever changing, single minded-ly.
