A monk asked Man-gong a question:
Q: "Where is the Buddha Dharma (佛法)?"
A: "In front of you."
Q: "If it is in front of me, why is it not seen to me?"
A: "It is not seen to you because you have you."
Q: "Have you seen it?"
A: "It's not seen if there is you. How can it be possibly seen if there is me as well?"
Q: "If there is neither me nor you, then can it be seen?"
Upon hearing it, Man-gong said:
"There being neither you nor me, who is the one trying to see it?"
