Agony
"Emily….Emily… Emily…" Zac slowly opened his eyes. He had been heavily sedated but he didn’t know that. He went to the hall of his house. A small house with a swing set for him by his late grandfather which occupied most of the space. Zac loved swinging on it but now really didn’t seem the time.
“What time is it?” asked a quizzical Zac.”4:00 pm Wednesday” said his mom and went to get him some coffee. She knew him all too well. His affair with coffee dated to Jurassic times. Two days?! I slept for two days?! He saw his mother coming. “I don’t want it. Leave me alone!” said Zac, throwing the cup on the mosaic floor. His mother looked shocked. To avoid further confrontation, Zac ran to his room.
Nothing is working out. Taking the phone into his hand, Zac just stared at the blank screen. His finger pressed a button on the keypad. Did it always look this ugly? staring at the picture of Emily and him. Slowly emotions crept in. Love, sadness, anger, hate. Zac curled into a ball. A ball of disappointment and hopelessness. Heavy breathing from his mouth, Zac wailed in agony “Emily! Why did you do this to me?” He knew deep within him that she would be fine. Attending school, talking to people. But here he was. Curled up and whining like a girl. It seemed as though their genders had be exchanged. Zac really didn’t know what to do but he knew that the psychiatrist was not helping. “Drugging Zac doesn’t work does it?” said a voice. Where is it coming from?
Zac could hear his mother knocking. “Yes come in.” “Zac I think we better see another psychiatrist. I have booked an appointment for tomorrow with Dr John” “Sigh ok mom” She kissed his forehead and was walking out when- “Uh.. mom” “Yes dear?” “She loved me right?” “Of course she did. Don’t doubt it for a second” It was clear as still water. His mother just sighed. She didn’t want to hurt her son. A single parent. She knew what not being loved meant. And was now watching her son go through it at such young age. “One day he will learn. One day”
