“Zac it is time to move on” said the counsellor. How can you expect me to move on in a day? He felt that the counsellor was being redundant. Never had he expected this situation. A situation where he would need professional help for a relationship. The stigma of mental illness plagued him. After all it was his first time.
Wiping away the tears he simply disagreed. “She was my everything, how can I move on?” questioned Zac. His mother sat next to him helpless. Even she knew that the counsellor was not worth the time. It was too early.Zac got up and left the cabin mid way through the conversation. “Sorry. But he is going through a lot. Please forgive him” said his mother and followed Zac.
It took fifty minutes to reach home. Traffic was at its peak. When wasn’t it? Sitting on his bed he picked up his phone. No messages. Without hesitation he called up Emily. “Don’t do it Zac” said his mother as she entered the room. She knew him all-too-well. There was no answer on the other end. Dummy she must be in school. Then it dawned upon him. How would he face people in school?
The day seemed to pass slowly. 3 hours took a year to come.Angered he took out his laptop and typed out a message his best friend. She played me all along bro. It really wasn’t worth it typed Zac. Enter. He knew it was his anger speaking. Deactivating his account he shut the laptop.
Half hour later he gets a call. Is it Emily? he wondered. Indeed it was! Overcome by joy he picked up the phone. “What do you think about yourself Zac?” the phone shouted. “How dare you think I played you along?” shouted Emily. How did she know? “What do you think people will talk about me in school? Don’t you dare lie” said Emily. “Babe, if you can hack into my account once, hack into it again and try telling the ‘truth’ ” said Zac and slammed the phone. He couldn’t believe it. Just to cross-check he types the URL-http://www.facebook.com. Indeed she had hacked it!
Memories flooding, his eyes welled up again. He shouted in pain. Not physical but emotional. His mother walked in with the medicines. Zac knew there was no other way out. He took the medicines. Everything seemed to fade away in an instant. His eyes droopy. He knew he was being sedated but it was for the good. What is the good in a break up?
