'Time' a rambling of mine published in free magazine LeftLion in 2007
What is time?
If you don't have time, then who has your time? If you can make time, does that involve taking someone else's? I know people with no time at all, none to call their own. I on the other hand, have time. Time in my mind and time on my hands. Taking time isn't theft but more the act of giving.. Of all my time, I share a fair proportion. Some people won't even give the time of day away.
I add haste to time by mixing it with expensive tools. I spend time on the cheap and cheerful alike; Who can specify what time is for? When we track time, time counts for much more.
I know for when its time for action, but at the same time I know I must bide mine. I don't have time to waste but if you let me i'll give you time. If we share time who's time are we on? If we're both spending time then who's cashing in?
My time means a lot to me, I can't just chuck it around willy nilly, nor do i want to take your time without reimbursement.
Time is of the essence but the essence of time only spans a second. How much of this essence should be applied to the subject, how long left to marinate?
I've been in the business of selling mine, a flat rate exchange, no matter the action at hand, true.
Also I've taken time that rightly belonged elsewhere, without a seconds notice. When we recount upon a time, that time seems fonder.
Once upon a time I didn't even have time for who I am at this time. Now I try to take time to make this time rightly mine.
