Seattle, Washington, USA
I was walking around the Museum of Flight in Seattle before a photography class I was helping out with. There are tons of really cool exhibits of old and new planes on display if you are into that sort of thing. This particular wheel caught my eye.....I think it was the red. The curious little boy in me reached out to touch it and see if it spun as it was suspended in the air.....it did. So I thought this sounds like a fun long exposure.
I liked the way it looked straight on but the background was really busy. The image sat in my "to be processed" folder for awhile. As I was looking for an image to process recently I thought this could be cool with a solid black background to make the wheel stand out. I could use the practice since I had just started trying this sort of thing and it looked like it would be pretty tough to do because of the detail of the mask that would need to be done. Little did I know it would be harder than I anticipated. Anyway, here is what I came up with. You can check out more over on my blog: http://bit.ly/Orbit-JTP
