I have a small piece of wire embedded in my foot.
It's been there for five years or so.
It hurts when I walk.
I walk a lot.
When it first happened my wife was in the last stages of her cancer. Things were dire. My little foot issue was low on the list of priorities.
Sometimes it doesn't hurt. In my job as a landscaper I spend a lot of time walking on turf. This is a relief relative to walking on a flat hard surface like concrete or tile.
I can walk 15 miles mowing grass but a half an hour walking in the mall is brutal.
"Why don't you do something dumb ass?" I hear you saying.
It's a valid question. Immediate economic concerns is the answer.
In six months I may be in a better position to pay a doctor.
So the short term goal is to maintain some kind of bliss, a positive vibe, to live well in the midst of this annoyance. If I remain focused I can get there.
