It's a stunning day in Melbourne. I was a little concerned when the pilot announced that it was cool and only 14 degrees, but walking through familiar streets with the sun warming my back is devine. My original plan to have breakfast at Doc Martins was scuttled due to my miscalculation of daylight savings, as well as Melbourne's fickle traffic, so I've found myself at Brother Baba Budan. A favourite of our recent family road trip, this cafe in Little Bourke Street sports an abstract sculpture of chairs suspended from the ceiling, a warm vibe and most important of all: decent coffee! Breakfast: a berry danish and a piccolo latte. My plan now is to survey the local shopping scene (new sunnies?) and then head over to St Kilda for lunch.
