I am a free spirit (or at least an inexpensive one), dancing fool, and chemist who also has a fondness for alchemy and other forms of magic. Alchemy is all about transformations; often the transformation of "base" metals, such as lead, into gold. I eschew such blatant materialism and focus my energy on the transformation of knowledge and wisdom into joy and love. I love science and view 'natural philosophy', as it used to be called, as a method for deep explorations into and respect for nature. When I am out of the lab I gravitate toward anything but logic. I have a particular fondness for art in all its forms... visual, written, musical, film ...etc. I care
