I've been thinking a lot lately about how to make building, installing and maintaining a little free library easier. I wrote something up awhile back why I think these could have a bigger impact than might seem obvious:
Since then we've talked to a lot of people who use our library and we've seen a few more pop up. Based on this feedback I think our little town could use 100 more and the benefits would be linear.
The most exciting thing for me is how the library has become a "gateway drug" for the idea of sharing economies and seems to get through to people who otherwise have trouble getting their heads around ideas beyond capitalism and kin.
