I don’t affiliate myself with any political party for the same reasons I don’t put stickers on my car: it’s a narrow way to judge someone’s character. I don’t care about your two-party national views because if you’ve been fair to me and those I care for, that’s about ninety-five percent of what matters, and largely what it means to be a decent friend. Your power is the same as mine, and we should use that power for generosity, not competition and separation. I love you, you love me. Let’s drink.
But every time one howls about this side and that side, and every time one posts a weak article or info graphic taken out of context to prove their misguided points for some sort of applause, I will judge them just as they openly judge others. But my judgement is not based on their politics; it is based on their willingness to keep pushing ideas and agendas that aren’t theirs to begin with. I judge them on their lack of original thought and unwillingness to think for themselves. I judge them because they are all that is wrong with everything they claim to stand against. Their stupidity smells the same as the others. The only point they are proving is they care more about being right than being good; which only serves to make them look like big assholes begging for disappointment when they should be fighting the forces leading them to disappointment, who created the disappointment.
Pack your bags. Keep them even. It is time to move forward.
