I'm a little little late posting a recap, but had a great time running the Steamboat Stinger Marathon two weekends ago. Great, pretty, super-runnable course - the only major downside was that the last 6 miles were insanely hot. Would be nice if they started the race 60 or 90 minutes earlier to beat the heat.
Special congrats to @kris on finishing her first marathon - hopefully this is the first of many! Also special thanks to @marla for crewing and dragging our lifeless bodies out of the way at the finish line.
I posted a Strava trace of the course at https://www.strava.com/activities/371023807
For me, the Stinger also kicked off the now-traditional August and September streak of racing every weekend. I ran the VRD 10K at 10,000' this past weekend, then have the Breck Crest Marathon this coming weekend, the Elk Mountains Grand Traverse on Labor Day weekend, and the Imogene Pass Run + VRD Evergold doubleheader the weekend after. Onwards and upwards!
