This could be a great platform if people would start using it. Stop worrying about how you don't know what you're doing or what to post. Are you waiting to post the "good stuff" you think of for a better time? That's kinda silly because you can't make anything good without making anything at all.
There's this line in Eminem's Rap God where he says mockingly, "I don't know how make songs like that/I don't know what words to use," that I think of when I see all of the "I don't know how or why to Ello" claims. Excuuuse me if you find quoting rap lyrics to be gauche, but this lick is so simple and true in words and tone that it's stuck with me when I think about making things and encouraging other people to make things. You're just gonna have to do it, if that's what you want to do. Master works don't happen in the first try and they really don't happen overnight, despite the numerous rags to riches stories to which the media gloms.
I like the idea that Ello doesn't have a favorite or like button. I think this encourages taking the extra step to share a connection, but the commenting and conversation options need improvement. The eyeball icon needs a little 'splaining. I'm glad I didn't initially complain about all the things on Ello that I eventually figured out.
Takes a little more time than twitter, but no character limit. Less options for posting than tumblr, but way less teenage fandom noise, plus the missing "e" (of course the missing "h")
Maybe I'll stop being too lazy to get off my phone and onto my laptop to get that picture oriented how society deems correct.
