Film photograph of Morning Start Mills cliff in Niagara Region. Took this photo with a Hasselblad 500C medium format camera in 2016, Ilford XP2 Super film. In the first year of my Digital Photography Program at Niagara College my professor, and Head of the Program, knew about my extended interest in film photography as well as Hasselblad cameras. So, after talking to him about film for a few months he offered to lend me his prestigious Hasselblad 500C camera to take pictures with and experience medium format film (which ended up being a completely different process to 35mm film). I was ecstatic, full of joy and eager to shoot, so I got some film and headed down to the Morning Star Mills trails, went down to the waterfalls and shot some images on that beautiful, sunny autumn day. The textures of the rocks and trees really contrasted the clear skies and the harsh, sunny lighting really accentuated the roughness of the rocks, creating deep shadows.
