A curated collection of images whose theme challenges society's ideal of the naked human body. Vulnerable, it presents itself with the unique characteristics of each individual; its flaws and perfections simultaneously. Anatomical I was pursued so that the idea of a bare body could be changed; an exposed body shows confidence and power, not sexuality and promiscuity. I used different lighting methods and techniques to portray each individual subject, aiming to portray each of them in a sculpture like form, accentuating the best of themselves and merging masculinity and femininity, blending them to create abstract photographs that ultimately showed gender neutrality. Anatomical I was my way to express my thoughts about the general concepts around sexuality, attractiveness, gender roles and my own body; the way I felt the world saw me versus how I wanted to be seen.
Shot with a Nikon D7100 DSLR, Using 500W Elinchrom strobe lights and a 18-55mm standard lens.
