I changed the title of my song to be more unique and searchable, more descriptive, and a bit more to the point. It’s not about a single liar on TV; it’s about the entire system.
In the US/Western propaganda model, the public is so inundated with biased information that most have only the slightest connection to reality, when it comes to wars, foreign policy, the biggest issues. It’s a tsunami of bullshit on most channels, which attempts to turn citizens into mindless cheerleaders & useful idiots. The ugly secret is that it works all too well.
The world isn’t being fixed because of propaganda, and your ideology is, no-doubt, a part of the problem.
On a more musical level, I threw out most compression and reverb. Except on the bass, it really needed a hell of a lot of compression to keep it audible. There’s too much dynamic variance banging those hard notes and slides. The only way to hear the quieter notes at all was to squeeze it quite a bit. There are also imperfections in the performance, so I was reluctant to amp it up, but I think I finally found a good balance on the low end.
The other issue was to boost mids and get rid of that kind of hollow empty sound to the mix, like a cavern. This was a characteristic of most of my mixes, and I’m still going through all the songs, but I’m hoping this one is finished, and I can move on with my life.
I’m right now recording a new song with a friend of mine.
