Three Twitter annoyances today...
1) Twitter has again revamped their privacy settings (at least since the last time I looked) and there are extra options to now go click/unclick.
2) When I logged into Twitter on the Web, I was greeted by a garish banner urging me to follow Carrie Underwood so I could get updates about the Country Music Awards. Wait, what?
Listen, I get that Twitter thinks it's future growth is increasing engagement with celebrities and entertainment events and maybe that garish banner would work with low information Twitter users, but that was so totally not relevant to me.
3) I was working with my public profile background on Web Twitter only to learn that you cannot upload an image to be your public profile background - you can only use a colored or themed background. The logged in timeline/settings pages can still be customized with a background image. So the long ago hack of using a custom background image is now gone. However, the custom profile banner does work.
On the upside, has anyone else noticed less ads on mobile Twitter?
