"Hidden in plain sight: Get Help. Get Out." - a proposed PSA against abusive relationships.
This project proposed changing a panel on supermarket packaging of multiple products. Since abusers see gender roles as black and white and force victims do all the food shopping and laundry, we proposed to show these messages "Hidden in plain sight" just as domestic violence is.
Conveyance packaging of the message included: beer (domestic violence occurs more frequently when the abuser is drunk), diet soda, dog biscuits (domestic violence is the next step if pets in the house are already being abused), because of gender roles we also included: laundry detergent, back of the register receipt and the shopping bag itself (the abuser would make the victim do all the shopping) and a pregnancy test (a warning about bringing children into an abusive relationship how might give the abuser another target).
