Learn about the different types of African textiles. Fashion designer and textile artist, Sylvia Emodi gives an inspiring talk on the versatility of African textiles, unlocking the meanings, identity and symbolism contained in many of the surface designs and weaving patterns. As part of the session, the workshop will give you an opportunity to get practical with African textiles using a range of craft techniques, such as hand sewing and decoupage. Suitable for the entire family, workshop attendees can choose to make an African fabric covered mask, bookmark, corsage or photo frame!
