When we got to the north coast of Fogo Island the fog was even thicker than at the ferry terminal. The thing I remember most is how cold it was on my face on the descent into Fogo. Like freeze your muscles in place cold. It didn’t really seem like it was raining but the air was so wet we had to put rain covers on our panniers. So we got to the north coast, couldn’t see anything except fog and ice, then headed into town for hardware-store hot chocolate. I don’t know if this is accurate or not but a big part of me felt like I was in the Arctic.
