I'm Josefina Repetto, illustrator and graphic designer from Mar del Plata, Argentina, based in London, and I'm a feminist.
In recent times, as in many others, women are tired of violence and humiliation, and driven by the indifference in society's actions, we want to be heard.
I dream of a world in which we are all equal, with the same possibilities, without distinctions of gender or sexual orientation. Of a world where society understands that feminism is not sexism, feminism is the belief that women should be allowed the same rights, power, and opportunities as men and be treated in the same way.
My work is inspired by the struggle against the heteropatriarchy, a social current in which we all participate with small acts that were inculcated throughout our lives, and that place men with more rights, opportunities or security than women .
Heteropatriarchy is a concept used to refer to a sociopolitical system in which the heterosexual male has supremacy over others. A term that emphasizes that discrimination against both women and LGBT people has the same social macho principle.
